Dick used the money to buy some stock and open a small storefront. In the mid-1950s, the store began selling general sports merchandise. When Dicks heard of the this they removed the pistols from the self…I am a sportsman so I believe if you want to have a gun to go hunting, markmenship, or clay shooting than fine. Reply So proud of Dick’s Sporting Goods for taking a common sense step on gun purchases.Dick Stack retired in 1984 and his son Eddie, the current CEO, took over the business.Edward Stack has served as chairman and chief executive officer of his father’s company since 1984, having started with the company full-time in 1977, and gradually working his way up in a variety of positions, including store clerk, merchandise manager, store manager and president. They began opening more stores across Upstate New York in the 1990s.I guess you guys really are Dicks in a multitude of ways!
Under the supervision of the man who would “never be a good merchant”, the store flourished and a second location was opened in Vestal, New York.
I support the NRA and the Constitutions 2nd Ammendment.
It is Dicks right to sell products as they please but it is the citizens right to let stockholders know where we stand.

I have the right to disagree and vote with my pocketbook. Neither I nor my rather extended family will be shopping at their new stores anymore. End game agenda is to only allow the Govt and criminals to own and possess guns. Our founding Fathers recognized the need for citizens second ramendment rights to protect ourselves not only from unstable or evil intent minded fellow citizens but MOREOVER from our own overreaching Government. Reply I stopped shopping at Dicks in 2012 when AR rifles were removed from the stores.
